Able Cuvier

Doctor Able Cuvier is a fictional character from Batman Beyond. He is one of the enemies of the new Batman, Terry McGinnis. Cuvier was voiced by Ian Buchanan.

Cuvier is the main villain from episode "Splicers". He is the creator of the new teen rage "Splicing". Where teens mix their DNA with different animals' DNA in order to gain their traits (fur, horns, heightened smell, eyes, etc). Once spliced teens start harassing people on the street Terry decides to go investigate Cuvier's Laboratory, The Chimera Institute. While there he learns that Cuvier is sending his henchmen to go and kill District Attorney Sam Young (also husband to Commissioner Barbara Gordon). Before Terry can go to stop them he gets injected with bat DNA, turning him into a Man-Bat. He manages to save D.A. Young, and is turned back to normal thanks to Bruce Wayne. With his operation being shut down and the police after him for the assassination attempt on D.A. Young, Cuvier goes into hiding with his henchmen. Armed with a dart gun that turns the Splicers back to normal and Ace (Bruce Wayne's guard dog) they track Cuvier down and confront him in his lab. Terry defeats the henchmen, and goes after Cuvier. Cuvier uses the animal DNA to turn himself into a "true chimera" (snake from the waste down, lion's torso and claws, eagle's head), and attacks Terry. Using his newfound strength and agility, Cuvier easily gains the upper hand in the battle. Cuvier begins to strangle Terry using his serpent body, and in desperation Terry grabs nearby syringes and further injects Cuvier with animal DNA. Being taken by surprise, Cuvier releases his grasp in pain, as Terry takes more syringes and begins to pump Cuvier full of animal DNA.

Cuvier shrugs off the pain of the syringes, and is knocks Terry flying with his gargantuan strength. Before he can deal the fatal blow however, Cuvier begins to rapidly mutate due to the barrage of injections. Cuvier's skin is ripped off as he mutates into a horrible monstrosity of animal parts. Now being more than ten times the size of Terry, Cuvier grasps Terry and begins to smash Terry into objects around the lab, knocking Terry unconscious. Cuvier then attempts to finish the battle by eating Terry, but just before he can chomp down Ace burst through a dilapidated part of the wall and attacks Cuvier, forcing him to release Terry. In Cuvier's attempts to destroy now both Terry and Ace, he accidentally strikes an electrical pole, which sparks a fire. The fire causes a massive explosion which Terry and Ace barely escape. The explosion presumably destroys Cuvier.

Powers and Abilities
In the series, Cuvier uses his genius in creating serums which give humans the genetic traits of animals. In his transformation of a Chimera, he gains super-strength from the combinations of the serums. He cannot take control of his transformation when he is injected with too many serums, becoming a horrendous monster.
