Abhay abhiyaan is a Marathee word, meaning no threat. In Pune, Maharashtra, India, there are people doing social work of educating people & teachers, how to teach without punishment or with possitive punishments. They explain what is the impact of punishment on child & punisher. Punishment is not accepted by child. It hurts child's mind more. Secondly child feels it's wrong is quit by punishment. One has to impress child, what should not be done by it & consult it, about nature of punishment for it. This involvement makes child responsible.It's hurt feeling also reduces much. About possitive punishments they guide 1) If a child tears somebody's book then it should go to library & stick 5 torn books 2)If child hurts somebody then it should take injured to Doctor & get treated.etc Secondly punisher also is troubled by punishing. Teacher will get High B.P.faster if he/she keeps on punishing.So parents & teachers should avoid punishment.
