Aaron Erick Lozada

Aaron Erick Lozada is a Filipino blogger, social media prodigy, and a visionary in entertainment news writing. He is best known as the founder and publisher of Pinoy Gossip Boy, a leading entertainment website in the Philippines. He used to(and still does, actually) write a weekly entertainment blog for www.philstar.com, the online news portal of the Philippine Star Group, until he was offered an editorial position starting August 2011.
www.philstar.com describes him, in his profile, as a polymath and a renaissance man who balances "his day-to-day life working in the bureaucracy and studying at the prestigious UP College of Law".
Family
Aaron was born on December 28, 1987 in Quezon City, Philippines. Although born in the metropolis, Aaron was raised in the town of Atimonan in the Province of Quezon. He is the elder of two children of Enrique Lozada, a retired hotelier and Estela Aguilar, a businesswoman. Aaron has a sister, Maristella Erika, who is 12 years his junior.
Aaron was born to a family of county gentry with a bit of old money. His paternal ancestors, the Lozadas, descended from the noble family of Lozada in Galicia, Spain. Among Aaron's ancestors are Bernardo Losada y Lazo, Count of Bagues (Conde de Bagues) and Manuel Lozada y Lazo, the Count of Alamo (Conde del Alamo).
Aaron's maternal ancestors, the Aguilars, were political scion in the town of Atimonan. Through his maternal grandmother, Aaron belongs to the Pasamba clan, believed to be a member of the Hispanic Principalia class. Their surname "Pasamba" is loosely translated as "to worship," denoting their noble and aristocratic origin.
Although Aaron came from an originally landed gentry, he was not raised in affluence. Their fortune was divested through subsequent generations and being a member of a cadet branch of the family, pedigree was his only inheritance.
Education
Aaron possesses a Bachelor's degree in political science from the University of the Philippines. He is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the U.P. College of Law.
Early education
Aaron was primarily educated in the town of Atimonan. He first attended a private Catholic school in the early years of his elementary education before he transferred to a government-run school where he graduated with honors. It is also during his elementary education where Aaron developed his love for public speaking and oratory.
He studied high school at the Leon Guinto Memorial College (LGMC) where he received the Leon Guinto scholarship. In high school, Aaron wrote articles for their school newspaper although he is not a member of the editorial board. He never knew that despite not being a school newspaper editor in high school, he will grow up to be one of the country's most celebrated online entertainment writers.
University life
Aaron moved to the nation's capital in Manila to attend the university. He was accepted to the political science program of the University of the Philippines - Manila. He graduated with a bachelor of arts in 2008. While in college, he served as block president and a member of the College Electoral Board.
After graduation, Aaron pursued studies in law at the U.P. College of Law, one of the country's most prestigious law schools. He enrolled in the evening program, a program designed for students with full-time careers.
Career
Government service
Aaron found a career in government service as a legal analyst at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). DAR is the lead implementing agency of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) which undertakes land acquisition and distribution.
Writing
In spite of lacking formal training, Aaron found a career in writing. He founded Pinoy Gossip Boy in 2009, which became a big hit in the country and emerged as a leading entertainment news source. He was also invited to write a weekly column at Philstar.com's Unblogged Section., until he was invited to join the news organization as an editor.
Social media
Following his success in blogging, Aaron became a household name in social media. He had been invited to a multitude of seminars and fora about the social media. His knowledge on the social media is often sought. He was interviewed in a newspaper for his knowledge on the internet.
Aaron was also featured in TV program "I JUANder." He has also guested in several radio programs including Radyo Singko's Showbiz FM and DZRJ's Hashtag Radio.. He has likewise given interviews to ABS-CBN's Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN) and GMA News TV's In The Limelight.
