A Friend of Mine is an experimental post-punk band from Melbourne, Australia. Their style is characterized by industrial electronics, extreme dynamics and chaotic soundscapes with Inpress calling their sound "music to bulldoze your neighbourhood to". Although formed recently, the band has gained increasing attention due to their unpredictable live shows and eclectic material. Produced by Sam Lowe (who has previously worked with Isis, The Tea Party, You Am I and Jet), the band's first EP, If Your Head Explodes You'll Never Make It, was released independently on June 6, 2007 earning single of the week with Beat Magazine hailing it as "a full and fierce debut...rich, dark and deeply creative...very, very interesting".
