4 Dunfermline-Blairhall

The 4 is a bus service running between the city of Dunfermline and village of Blairhall, Scotland.
History
The 4 was introduced on the 18th August 2014, as a renumbering of the previous route 74. Originally running between Duloch Park district centre and Blairhall, the service was curtailed in summer 2016 to run only between Dunfermline bus station and Blairhall village centre, the same route as the previous 74.
While for many years the 4 ran at a half-hourly frequency, the frequency of the route was reduced on the 7th November 2022 to hourly. A half-hourly frequency was retained between Dunfermline and Oakley, with alternate services diverting north as route 4A to serve Saline and Steelend.
Operation
The 4 is run as a commercial operation by Stagecoach East Scotland, and is thus not supported by any subsidies. It operates Monday to Saturday daytime, between around 6am and 7pm. Service 4 and 4A provide a half-hourly frequency between Dunfermline and Oakley, with an hourly service between Oakley and Blairhall provided by service 4.
Evening and Sunday services from Dunfermline to Blairhall are provided by Bay Travel's 4B and 4C services. Service F6 also provides evening and Sunday services between Dunfermline and Oakley. Regular vehicles on the 4 include single-decker buses Enviro200 MMCs, Enviro200s and Enviro300s, and double-decker buses Enviro400s and ALX400s.
