2021 Albuquerque hot air balloon crash

On June 26, 2021, a hot-air balloon crashed in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States, near the intersection of Central Avenue and Unser Boulevard after it collided with a power line, killing five people.
Accident
The balloon was carrying three men (including the pilot) and two women. Shortly after 07:00 MDT the balloon made contact with a power line, causing the basket to detach from the balloon and fall about 100 feet (30 meters) before crashing into the ground and catching fire. All five people on board died as a result of the accident. The accident also caused a power outage for over 13,000 people in the area.
Investigation
The Federal Aviation Administration said the basket fell 30 metres before exploding in the street.
