2020 XFL Championship Game

The 2020 XFL Championship Game was the planned championship of the XFL for its 2020 season. The game was scheduled to be played on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas. It was planned to be televised on ESPN.
The game was left in jeopardy on March 12, 2020, after the league announced that the 2020 regular season would not continue because of social distancing restrictions put in place to avoid the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Host selection
Houston had previously been one of the first locations that XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck, a former Houston Oilers quarterback and Houston Dynamo team president, had identified as a location for the XFL. The league ultimately awarded the Houston Roughnecks franchise to the city and also hosted its league-wide training camp there prior to the 2020 season. News of Houston's selection as the site of the championship broke February 11, 2020, with the league confirming it February 13.
