2017 Kashmir Students Protests came in series of 2016 Kashmir unrest, that was upsurge after the killing of young militant Burhan Wani. Just after The April 9, an election was held for a parliamentary seat but voter turnout was only 7 percent, A video of Indian security personnel became viral in which they were beating students. Following this, a large number of students in different parts of Kashmir valley ran a mock against Indian police and army. The distinctive part of this agitation was that a large number of female teen students took part in it. The NDTV of India called it as "Kashmir's New Face Of Protests: Teen Schoolgirls On The Streets". The protest left many students with injuries and detained.
