2001 Sussex bus crash

The 2001 Sussex bus crash was an accident that occurred in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada, at 5:15am local time on April 27, 2001 after a bus carrying 48 people mostly children from Oak Hill Middle School of Newton, Massachusetts flipped over after making a sharp turn on an on-ramp.
The accident was ultimately determined to have been caused by poor lighting, poor driver training and the improper seating of most of the passengers. An inquest into the accident ultimately provided numerous recommendations to improve the safety of travel in the province of New Brunswick. However some critics have pointed out they believe that many of these recommendations appear to have not been properly heeded specifically citing the apparent lack of precautions taken before the Boys in Red accident which occurred seven years later.
