091 Labs is a hackerspace in Galway, Ireland. The group started meeting in March 2010, and in June 2010 they moved into a new location in Exchange House, Galway City. Like all hackerspaces, 091 Labs is a community-operated physical space run by its members to provide a shared space. The members have a place to be creative and work on their projects in an environment that is both inspiring and supportive of both new and old technologies, ranging from soldering to the performing arts. The space is funded by its members and allows them 24-hour access to a place equipped with shared equipment supplied or donated by members or friends of 091 Labs. 091 Labs allows for a community that would usually be based through some virtual medium to come together to form a meeting place for similar-minded individuals in a physical space. 091 Labs allows people to collaborate on projects in a centralised place and to bring the skills of many interdisciplinary people together to get a task or project completed. 091 Labs has an open night every Tuesday at 7.00pm. The name 091 Labs comes from 091, the telephone area code for Galway City.
